Once the application is approved, the company must then submit the necessary fees and apply for a visa for the foreign employee. This can be done through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in the employee’s home country.
In addition to the work permit and visa, the company must also register the employee with the Social Security Office and obtain an Alien Income Tax ID Card from the Revenue Department. The company is also responsible for ensuring that the employee has the necessary health insurance coverage.
It is important for businesses to understand and follow the laws in Thailand, as failure to do so can result in penalties and fines. Additionally, companies found to be in violation of the laws may have their applications denied or their existing permits revoked.
